Privacy Policy

KakuCut is operated by CHUN CHENG LIU, an independent developer based in Taiwan. KakuCut is designed to make private, on-device video editing simple. This policy explains what happens when you use the KakuCut app and this website.

Your videos stay on your device

KakuCut edits the videos you select on your iPhone. It does not require an account. Project media and exports are stored in app-managed storage on your device.

Local storage and deletion

KakuCut stores projects, app-owned copies of imported media, and its working files on your device. Deleting a project removes its app-owned project media. Your original item in Photos and any export you save to Photos remain there until you remove them yourself. We do not have a copy to recover after local deletion.

Permissions

• Photos: used only to import videos you select and, when you choose, save an export back to your library. Apple Photos may use a network connection to retrieve an item you selected from iCloud.
• Speech recognition: used to create captions from a selected video's audio. Recognition runs on-device when the device and language are supported. Apple manages speech permission and, on supported systems, may download the required language-model assets as a system service.
• Microphone: used only when you choose to record a voiceover.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

Optional font downloads

If you choose to download an optional font, KakuCut connects directly to the published font source, currently GitHub-hosted Google Fonts files. That provider may receive technical request data, such as your IP address and device/network headers, under its own privacy policy. Downloaded fonts are stored locally on your device. Font downloads are optional and happen only when you choose Download.

Diagnostics and analytics

The app may write privacy-redacted operational information to Apple's on-device unified logging system. If you choose to share analytics and diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with crash and performance reports under Apple's privacy terms. KakuCut's operational logs do not include your videos, audio, captions, project names, filenames, exported files, or URLs.

Website delivery

This website uses Cloudflare for hosting, content delivery, and security. Cloudflare processes technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site. We do not use advertising trackers, do not export raw website logs, and do not operate a client-side website analytics service. The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts; Google may receive technical request data when your browser loads those fonts.

Support email

When you contact [email protected], we receive the information you include in your message and use it only to respond, troubleshoot, and improve KakuCut. Support correspondence is handled through Gmail and retained for up to three years after our last meaningful interaction, unless a longer period is required by law or reasonably necessary to resolve a dispute. Google and your own email provider may process the message under their respective privacy policies. Please do not send private source videos or sensitive personal information unless we ask for it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as KakuCut evolves. The current version is always published on this page with its update date.
